'ever been haunted by food?

like when out of the blue, you're reminded of something so yums and you start craving for that yums something? what's that yums something you're thinking about right now?

this is the yums something my tummy and i are daydreaming about at the moment. it's a super awesome chocolate cupcake with a bad-@$$ peppermint frosting i had just a few days ago.

meeeehhh. i wish 1 would fall from the sky and land on my lap right now! that would be... er... sweet.

the famous wagyu burger

P1,375.00 (burger)
+ P137.50 (service charge)
+ P34.38 (tax)
+ P165.00 (evat)
-----------------------------------
= P1,711.88 (total)

and my verdict? overpriced. hehehe.

the rest of the family arrived at the hotel today, by the way.

happy holidays!

trouble in paradise?

hello from the pink hotel in mactan island!

my younger sisters and i just arrived, excited about hitting the beach. it looks like there's going to be a little "trouble in paradise" today, though. i fear a tropical storm is forming in the distance.

only playing for a few minutes in the pool, as with a weather like this, artificial water is safer than the sea, my younger sisters came running back to a nearby bar we had drinks in, shivering like poor little chihuahuas in oversized resort towels.

then it started to get really cold and cloudy and drizzly. we knew we had to spend the rest of the day indoors. but it won't be so bad as we never run out of things to keep us occupied.

at the moment, my sisters are eating and watching a movie. and i'm blogging with nemo by my side, contemplating a long warm soak in the bath.

r.i.p., phone

oh my god!
oh my god!!!
the nokia i have saved so hard for just died...
i gave big money to charity for that phone;
i waiiiiiiited for that phone;
i liked that phone...
i never thought i would ever cry for a cellphone,
but i'm doing just that.
i know it was getting old
and was on the verge of death,
but i wasn't at all prepared for it to die today...
of all days!!!
and with precious files in it's main memory!
ugh.
why couldn't it wait for february
when i'd recover from what the holidays is requiring me to spend?
why did it have to die on me on this important day to make important calls?!
whyyy???

it's raining!

when it rains and i'm just staying in, i'm happy. i don't mind that every1's out to go bowling and eat. i'm left home with the amah, who just made the perfect soup to go with this little tropical thunderstorm. she told me stories about her life while she prepared food, so it wasn't very lonely.

now that i'm rested, i'm feeling much better than yesterday. thank you for the nice wishes, by the way! i'm determined to completely recover by the time i open my eyes tomorrow, so i'm praying and doing everything i can.

and i know i'm supposed to be back under warm sheets, falling asleep to the sound of the rain and all... it's just that i'm itching to say hi/wish you a happy weekend and to take a long bath after this quick post. hehe.

i hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

sick again

this morning i had a little trouble getting up for work. my body felt so heavy and weak, and my head hurt like i used a block of rock as a pillow. i hoped the week-old cough and stuffy nose would get better overnight, but they've grown worse.

on monday of last week i called in sick: i don't have a choice but to do the same thing today and stay in bed.

how i wish my body could've waited until the start of the weekend. i'm being challenged and am challenging myself to do well at work, but i'm afraid i couldn't prove that i can handle demands and pressure today. i'm very disappointed with my immune system. lol.

*~*~*~*

lunch today made up for yesterday's. my father, who's visiting the family for the week and seems to be in a good mood (because it's his birthday week?), prepared everything. i can't even imagine him in the kitchen, but the man now has a specialty(!)—fish.

he made decent dishes, though, including a native fish stew—hot and just what i needed for my cold. it doesn't look edible, i know. but i guess that's the thing about filipino food: most of them look too ugly to eat, like this tasty godzilla-like fish:

yup!

my kid sister arrived from school with a box of doughnuts for dessert, too!
