they grow up so fast

remember my childhood best friend's baby? the little heartbreaker turned a year older this week. how time flies, ne! (suddenly, i feel 60!)



all his other godparents and mom's friends came by their house this evening to celebrate with their family with plenty of foooooood. some people from common social circles were there, and it was especially nice to get to hang out with several neighborhood kids my siblings and i (sort of) grew up with.



tonight it seems that it was only a few months ago that we started playing; that some kids fought with our main amah, hitler, to get us siblings out of the house; and that 1 of us started walking catwalks around the world, another left to become a designer, and a younger girl shook the neighborhood with her suicide.

we ate again, entertained the little birthday boy, played cards, took obligatory group pictures, sneaked in a little alcohol, and playfully made jokes about each other's younger versions. it was good fun...

i have interesting neighbors and i just realized this because i'm such a hermit. heh.
